Out & About
Although the area is renowned for its peace and tranquility there is plenty to keep you busy during your stay. As well as the adventure activities the local villages and towns host many festivals and events throughout the year including fêtes, open air historical re-enactments (Cathar and Roman history) and amazing firework displays. The Tour de France passes close by and is an enjoyable occasion for enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike. The prehistoric caves of Mas d’Azil & Niaux are only 30 minutes to an hour’s drive away and are unforgettable.
Toubies is on the border between the Haute Garonne and the Ariege and is one of the most under-developed and unspoilt areas of France. It remains covered in large tracts of woodland and wilderness areas. This leads to the common sighting of wildlife of all types including deer, wild boar and large numbers of birds of prey.
